Careers portal privacy policy

AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AngloGold Ashanti) is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection and privacy laws in relation to your use of the AngloGold Ashanti Careers Portal (Careers Portal) and its application tracking system (ATS). Any personal information that you provide via the Careers Portal and the ATS will be used and retained in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Protecting Personal Data is of importance to AngloGold Ashanti Limited (and its Affiliates) and the below processes will be followed in the processing, use and retention/storing of Personal Data.

For the purposes hereof the following terms shall have the following meanings:

AGA, through the AGA Human Resources Department will be a processor of the Personal Data received by the applicant in terms of the AGA recruitment module in use at the relevant time. The Personal Data will be kept in the cloud.  AGA will only process Personal Data on behalf of its own requirements and/or the requirements of its Affiliates and AGA will be the sole controller of the personal data received.

AGA will not make use of sub-processors outside AGA and/or its Affiliates to process Personal Data and will comply to the requirements set out in the POPI Act and the GDPR.

AGA Privacy undertaking

In receipt and processing of Personal Data, AGA will in addition to the POPI Act and the GDPR comply with the provisions of applicable privacy laws or data protection laws which regulate the collection, storage, use and disclosure of Personal Data as may be in force and be applicable to the relevant Persona Data from time to time. AngloGold Ashanti Limited will also comply with the privacy code/s or policy/ies which AngloGold has adopted.

All Personal Data will be treated as confidential and that only AngloGold Ashanti Limited and its Affiliates are to be privy thereto and such Personal Data shall not be shared unless required by law.

Technical Measures

AGA has implemented technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, or alteration, and against unauthorized disclosure or access.

In the event of AngloGold Ashanti Limited becoming aware of a breach of the protection of Personal Data, where required by applicable law AGA will notify the relevant individual/s of the breach and take all reasonable measures to resolve and mitigate the adverse effects of such breach.

Retention of your Personal Information

All personal data held in terms of the relevant recruitment module shall be deleted in accordance with the timelines set out therein or upon request by the relevant individual to whom the Personal Data relates (where required by applicable law). 

Application and Candidate Profile will be deleted X years/months after the last time you accessed your profile.
