How to buy ADRs

Depositary Receipts may be purchased like any other U.S. security. They trade on all the major exchanges (NYSE, AMEX, NASDAQ) and in the Over-The-Counter "Pink Sheet" market. It is easy to invest in non-U.S. companies through Depositary Receipts. Below are three ways to help you purchase Depositary Receipts:

Global BuyDIRECT

Global BuyDIRECT, a Direct and Sale/Dividend Reinvestment Plan sponsored by the Bank of New York, offers investors the opportunity to purchase Depositary Receipts at commissions that are typically less than a retail broker.

BNY Brokerage

You can purchase Depositary Receipts through BNY Brokerage, Inc. BNY Brokerage Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bank of New York Company and provides professional trade execution to meet all of your investing needs.

Your Broker

You can purchase Depositary Receipts through brokerage firms throughout the United States. Depositary Receipts can be purchased just as you would purchase other U.S. securities.

Note: BNY Brokerage, Inc. is a member NASD/SIPC, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bank of New York Company, Inc. Securities are not FDIC insured and may lose value.
